최근 비트코인은 거래저장의 수단 외에 사용처가 없기에 이더리움이 비트코인 왕좌를 뺏을거라는 얘기가 나오지만, 둘은 서로 다른 목적을 위해 만들어졌기에 비교하는것은 의미가 없습니다.

비트코인의 경쟁자는 라이트코인, 도지코인, 지캐시이며 비트코인은 언제나 최고입니다.

멀티체인를 위해 준비해라

우리는 멀티체인의 시대를 살고있습니다. 비트코인은 다른 체인과 호환이 필요하고 다른 체인에서는 비트코인의 가치를 교환가능하게 하기 위해 비트코인을 준비해두었습니다.

비트코인 ETF의 "선물"

중국 비트코인 산업의 몰락

PoS는 비즈니스 유사체로 생각하는 것이 적합합니다. 각 개별 지분 증명 네트워크에는 중앙 집중화, 검열의 위험이 있다는 사실을 기억하세요.

비트코인 로드맵

인터넷 없이 동작하는 비트코인을 만들기 위한 Blockstream 회사가 있습니다. 위성을 통해 비트코인 노드를 돌려보는 등의 엄청난 일들이 벌어지고 있습니다.

라이트닝과 엘살바도르

라이트닝은 달러 지원을 받는 ERC20 와 비교해 가치를 잃은듯해보입니다. 2020년에는 채널의 용량과 노드에 성장이 거의 없었죠. 채널의 용량은 이번 여름에 증가했지만 ERC20 스테이블 코인의 $5T 에 비하면 아주 적은 $200M 의 용량을 가집니다.

하지만 모든 스테이블 코인들과 다른 어떤 암호자산이 "돈"으로써 이루지 못한 것을 비트코인이 올해 해냈습니다. 엘살바도르의 법정 화폐가 된 것입니다. 여전히 DeFi에 비해 적은 수지만 비트코인은 600만명이 사용하는 화폐입니다. 파라과이와 우크라이나 또한 비트코인을 채택하려고 한다는 여론이 있습니다.

  • One reason the gaming industry has been so dominant in the entertainment industry (bigger than the movie and music industry combined) has to do with its early embrace of the internet’s new mediums (streaming)and business models (freemium and virtual goods marketplaces). It would be ironic if those same studios missed crypto, especially since the pace of growth and revenue generation in crypto gaming isn’t theoretical anymore. It’s mind-melting.

We saw how quick and extreme the backlash might be from anti-crypto users when Discord even teased an NFT integration.

  • Meta could brute force the path for hardware, graphics software, and mobile bandwidth to the point the metaverse becomes truly immersive.

Bankless에서 낸 이더리움 어닝 리포트의 주요 내용을 요약드립니다.

1. 디파이에는 대부분의 은행보다 더 많은 돈이 잠겨있고,

2. EIP-1559 로 인해 13억 달러 이상의 이더가 소각되었습니다.

3. 레이어2 는 계속 발전하고 있습니다.

4. 이더리움의 PoS로의 전환이 거의 막바지입니다. 이더 홀더들에게 기쁜 소식이죠. PoS는 환경과 마이닝 이슈를 해결할 것이라 보고있습니다.

이더리움은 EIP-1559 업데이트로 수수료 소각을 시작하였고 반분기에 13억 달러 이상이 소각되었습니다. 이로써 사람들은 ETH 가치가 상승될 것이라 기대할 수 있게 되었습니다.

여기서 EIP 1159에 의해 2번 수입원이 거의 없어지게 된 것입니다.

The merge & 유동성 스테이킹

The merge=PoS로 전환이 스테이킹 시장의 판도를 바꿀 것이고 JP 모건은 2025년에 연 $40B 의 시장이 될 것이라 예측했습니다. 현재는 $10B 정도가 디파이 시장에 있기에 50 배 이상 더 커야합니다.

근데 이 전환은 기회비용의 문제입니다. 네트워크 벨리데이션에 참여하기 위해 자산을 잠궈야하기 때문입니다. 그래서 스테이킹한 자산을 유동화 시키는 프로토콜이 등장하고 있습니다.현재 Lido 나 Anchor가 이더리움과 테라 스테이킹에 가장 많이 참여하고있습니다.

스테이킹을 통해 리워드를 얻을 수 있지만 강세장이 항상 지속되지는 않기에 청산 위험을 염두에 두셔야합니다.

EVM or Non-EVM

저자는 멀티체인의 시대에서 EVM이 하나의 표준이 될 것이라 생각하고, 뒤에 이어지는 섹션 솔라나-코스모스-폴카닷-테라를 통해 어떤 체인이 또 하나의 표준이 될 지 살펴보고 있습니다. 테크 플랫폼은 초기에는 시장에 많은 아이디어들이 나왔지만 후에는 그것들이 하나의 표준에 맞춰졌습니다. 지금까지 플랫폼 시장이 그랬던 것처럼 스마트컨트랙트 시장도 그렇게 될 것이라 예상합니다.

물론 아닐 수도 있지만, 후에 개발자들은 2~3위 밖의 체인들을 위해 일하기 싫어할 것입니다. 진짜 기술적으로 어플리케이션에 꼭 맞는 체인이 아니라면요. 예를 들어 이더리움에서 중앙 지정가 오더북을 만들 수 없기에 Serum의 DEX는 솔라나에서 동작합니다. 새로 시작하는 회사들은 안전한 이더리움 위에 앱을 올릴 것이냐, 위험을 무릎쓰고 새로운 시장에다 정착할 것이냐 하는 갈림길에 마주할 것입니다.

레이어1의 상대적 벨류에이션

이더리움은 확장성 트릴레마 문제 중 확장성을 어느정도 포기하고 보안과 탈중앙화를 중요시하는 롤업 중심의 미래를 그리고 있습니다. 폴카닷과 코스모스도 비슷한 모델을 가집니다. 그러나 솔라나는 탈중앙화를 포기하고 속도를 취하고 있습니다.

저자는 이더리움을 믿었지만 생각보다 시장이 탈중앙성을 중요하게 생각하지 않기에, non-EVM인 다른 레이어1 들도 가능성이 있지 않을까 생각이 바뀌었다고 합니다. 현재 레이어1 시장 중 60%를 점유하고 있지만 내년에는 반절이하로 떨어질거라 예상합니다. 그리고 레이어2 토큰들이 성장을 주도할 것이라 주장합니다.

현재 크립토 이코노미에 레이어1 여러 플랫폼이 시장을 지배하는 것은 세계에 5개의 테크 회사들 (Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Facebook)이 $1+ trillion를 보유하고 있다는 사실과 비슷합니다.

끝나지 않는 솔라나 섬머

2021년은 솔라나의 여름으로 뜨거웠습니다. 이더리움에 도전장을 던진 솔라나 체인은 무엇보다 빠른 속도가 장점입니다. 솔라나는 EVM에서 벗어나 모든걸 자신의 베이스 체인으로 맞추고자 노력하고있습니다.

레딧의 공동설립자가 $100M 을 솔라나의 SNS 에 투자했고 FTX 는 게임 관련에 $100M을 투자했습니다. 솔라나는 현재 브라우저 지갑인 Phantom 과 크립토게임, NFT 등 다방면에서 아주 우세한 점유율을 보이고 있습니다.

솔라나는 2년이 되지 않는 시간동안 $65B 이상의 시가 총액을 축적했습니다. 솔라나가 17시간동안 멈췄던 사건 등은 피할 수 없고 네트워크가 수명 주기 초기에 치명적인 버그를 발견하는 것은 당연한 일입니다.

이 저자는 솔라나에 대해 아주 믿음이 강했습니다. 솔라나는 향후 2년내에 수천만 사용자를 끌것이며 샤딩과 롤업등이 2년내에 제대로 동작하지 않을거라 주장했습니다.

폴카닷의 느리지만 꾸준한 행보

Terra의 애플리케이션 생태계는 올해 폭발적으로 성장했습니다. 한국 결제 앱 Chai와의 파트너십을 통해 Terra의 사용자 수는 230만 명에 달했습니다. Terra의 알고리즘 스테이블 코인 UST는 첫 해에 $7.2B 로 증가했으며 곧 시가 총액에서 Maker's Dai를 추월할지도 모릅니다. 합성 주식 애플리케이션 Mirror는 고정 가치가 $1.5B 달러로 Synthetix의 $2.1B 달러에 약간 못 미치는 수준입니다.

흥행에도 불구하고 SEC와 권도형 대표의 싸움에서 LUNA의 가격이 급격하게 떨어질때 부도의 가능성을 열어둬야합니다. 콜럼버스5 업데이트, 웜홀 버전2를 이뤄내 위험요인이 있더라도 회복력이 좋을것이라 기대할 수 있습니다.

남은 레이어1 중에서 볼만한 것

폴리곤

레이어2의 확장성 솔루션외에도 블록체인을 확장시키는 7가지 방법이 있습니다. 레이어 1 최적화, 레이어0 상호운용성, 페이먼트 채널, 사이드체인, 플라즈마, 옵티미스틱 롤업, zk 롤업입니다.

폴리곤은 각각의 벨리데이터 셋이 존재하기에 롤업은 아니고 폴리곤 벨리데이터들이 주기적으로 이더리움에다 체인의 상태를 기록하기 때문에 사이드체인 또한 아닙니다. 우리는 그걸 commit chain이라고 부르기로 했습니다.
